Supporting Color Palettes
Additional neutral, complementary and bold color palettes provide flexibility in the use of color, while promoting a consistent, coordinated appearance in our marketing and communications.
Note: Blue-gray hex#94A1B2 is from the blue in the graduated web page border of the UNCG web templates.
TIPS AND BEST PRACTICES
Choose a sub-set of the supporting color palette and use it consistently for your unit’s communications — including your web sites and other eCommunications. Using a limited palette will allow your unit’s communications to be recognized as originating from a single source while still adhering to the overall university brand standards.
Color formulas for print as well as suggested color combinations may be found on the colors page.
Limit the use of your supporting color choices to a selection of two or three. Some combination of gold, white and navy blue should always be used prominently to showcase your relationship to the greater university. Using too many additional colors can dilute your design and mask the primary university colors.
Keep the ratio of UNCG gold to no more than about 10 percent of your web design. The UNCG gold is a strong color and is most effectively used as an accent color, calling attention to specific elements in your design. Large areas of yellow can be overwhelming and even make readability difficult. Remember — a little goes a long way.
