University Communications Photography and Digital Film

The University Communications Photography Department captures the images that tell the UNCG story. Specializing in editorial and documentary still and motion photography that sets the standard for the university integrated marketing and strategic communication plan, our work supports a wide variety of UNCG publications, multimedia and online communications.

Requesting our services

Our photographers provide a variety of imaging services to the UNCG community.


Please allow sufficient time (ten or more business days in advance) whenever possible.

Services that will require a longer lead time are:

  • Departmental group photography
  • Onsite portraits
  • Retirement Functions
  • Events
  • Assignments requiring travel outside of the Triad.
  • Motion Photography

University Communications photography department provides portraits to faculty, staff and students. The portrait session will provide standard studio lighting and a tasteful gray background. Portraits will be made at the Photography Studio at 1100 West Market Street (Suite 201). We keep your photograph in our archive for university use such as press releases. Please allow 30 minutes for your portrait session.

Photography requests may be outsourced, and subsequent costs incurred will be the responsibility of the requesting department or office.

Academic Support Photography

University Communications photographers do not assist with photography for classroom instruction or research. However, the Division of Continual Learning (DCL) is available to provide academic media support services.  Creative Services in DCL offers photography, videography, audio production, online instruction video production, media duplication & conversion and other services custom tailored to specific needs.
