082510CampusPeople_KirchoffDr. Bruce Kirchoff (Biology) was elected chair for the Developmental and Structural Section of the Botanical Society in America. In this capacity, Kirchoff both chairs the section and serves on the governing Council of the Society.


082510CampusPeople_MyersDr. Jane Myers (Counseling and Educational Development) and her colleagues in Hong Kong received a grant from the Research Grants Council at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The grant for $65,796 will fund a 30-month study of teacher wellness and hopefully the development of a new model of wellness for China. Co-researchers on the grant include Dr. Patrick Lau, Principal Investigator, from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Dr. Raymond Chui Chan from Hong Kong Baptist University and Dr. Mantak Yuen from the University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Love Crossling is the newly appointed director of Grogan College as of Aug. 3. She makes this transition after four years as a coordinator of residential learning for the department of Housing and Residence Life and a faculty member for the Freshmen Seminar Program in the area of social sciences. Love will serve as an educator in the Department of Religious Studies, starting this fall. Love received her doctorate in Cultural Foundations from UNCG and also received her undergraduate degree in psychology and communication studies from UNCG.
