Native American Exhibition

Enjoy an art exhibition on loan from the Guilford Native American Association.

This exhibit, “When the leaves turn and the Lumbee dances, it’s Pow Wow time in the city,” is billed as a photographic story of the history and heritage of Native Americans.

The exhibition depicts a story of more than nine tribes throughout North Carolina and parts of the Southwest. They individuals photographed are diverse in age, occupation, tribes, interests, education and economic status. They were photographed at the Birthday Celebration of the Greensboro’s Children’s Museum; performances in the Guilford Native American Association exhibition space; and from the North Carolina Indian Medicine Shows I and II in Pembroke.

This exhibit is on display in the EUC’s Multicultural Resource Center through Oct. 8.

There will be an art reception on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 5 p.m. in the Multicultural Resource Center.

During the art reception Ms. Ruth Revels, Director of Guilford Native Art Gallery, will speak about the exhibit and the Guilford Native American Dance Team will perform.
