About
Writers, editors and media professionals comprise a central communications office for UNCG. We are committed to informing local and national audiences as well as our campus community about noteworthy university-related events and accomplishments. Working with the news media, we develop and market stories for print and online publications, highlighting UNCG’s outstanding faculty, students, staff, learning environment, research and more.
Recent and archived news releases written by the Communications & Media staff can be located on the University News page. If you are preparing your own interview or story for a media outlet, you may find it helpful to review Media Relations Tips. Or if you are a faculty member who would like to represent your field and serve as a resource for local and national journalists, please visit our faculty experts page.
In addition to news releases, e-newsletters, etc., we also work in conjunction with other University Relations staff to produce:
- UNCG Magazine, the university’s alumni magazine, which is published 3 times a year
- UNCG Research, the campus research magazine, published once yearly
- Campus Weekly, a newsletter for faculty and staff
- inspirechange.uncg.edu, a repository of stories about faculty, staff, student and alumni contributions to the community and beyond
Communications & Media plays an important role in crisis communications, working in cooperation with the Emergency Planning and Response Team (EPART), the Crisis Management Group and Campus Police. To be updated on important safety information and announcements, please visit the Emergency Information page.
